Alice Faye Liggett Rakestraw 68, of Slaughters, KY went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2014. She was a Graduate of Dixon High School in 1963. She worked as a program technician at the Farm Service Agency in Dixon for over 21 years, she was a member of Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church in Slaughters, KY where she taught Sunday School and helped with Bible School. She loved her most recent job of being an On Call Granny for her 3 Grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents T.D. “Buck” and Ruby Liggett, her sister Wanda Sue Duncan and a brother Jimmy Liggett. Survivors include her husband of 47 years Terry E. Rakestraw of Slaughters, KY; 1 daughter Kimberly Ann Saalwaechter and her husband Scott of Slaughters, KY; 1 son N. Alan Rakestraw DVM and his wife Anne CPA of Robards, KY; 2 sisters Ann Braden and her husband Tom of Providence, KY and Shirley Tapp and her husband George of Dixon, KY; 3 brothers Dorris Ray Liggett and wife Betty, David Liggett and wife Ann, Tommy Liggett and his wife Naomi all of Dixon, KY; 3 Grandchildren Thomas Alan, Tristen James and Karson Eugene, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on January 30, 2014 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Harry Baldwin and Rev. Steve Dame will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Slaughters, KY. Visitation will be from 2-8pm on Wednesday and from 8am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Active Pallbearers will be Danny Liggett, Mikel Watson, Darrell Braden, Keith Johnson, Michael Andrews, Dale Boudreaux and Danny Brooks.
