Barbara Melton

Barbara Ann Culver Melton 83, went to her heavenly home on March 23, 2022 with her family by her side at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born in Henderson on July 2, 1938 to the late Elbridge (Ebbie) and Mildred Hulse (Shuggie) Culver. She was a loving devoted wife to her surviving husband Jerry of Tilden, KY. They were married on January 31, 1959. She was a precious wonderful mother and mother-in-law to her surviving daughter Cindy Moore and her husband Stacy of Henderson, KY. She is also survived by a nephew, cousins, great nieces and nephews and also a great-great niece and nephew. She was also a bonus grandma to Amanda Jackson, Aaron Roybal and Jaci Beckner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Robert (Bob) Culver and his wife Ginny and their daughter Tammy Mills. Barbara worked with her husband until her retirement on their grain farm. She was a member of the first graduating class at Henderson County High School in 1956. She loved children and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Greg Duncan will officiate. Entombment will be in the Fairmont Mausoleum in Henderson, KY. Visitation will be from 11am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Music will be performed by Kay Mallicoat, niece by marriage; Prayer by Taylor Brown. Pallbearers will be Aaron Roybal, Taylor Brown, Darryl Wilkerson, Michael Roybal, Johnny Frederick and Jerry Whitledge. The family would like to thank Dr. Rick Crawford and the nursing/tech staff at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, especially the D500 unit for their exceptional care.
