Barbara Ann Daugherty Yates 78, of Nebo, KY passed away on Sunday June 9th, 2024 at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY. Barbara was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Providence, KY, she was a Sunday school teacher and very active in the church. She loved the Lord and faithfully served him. She loved spending time with her family. Barbara worked as an LPN up until her retirement at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY. She was the daughter of the late Vollie John and Alice Grace Gipson Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Donald R. Yates, 2 sisters Goldie Simmons and Martha Jean Cates and 4 brothers John, Bob, Larry and Victor Daugherty. Survivors include her daughter Tammy(Jamie) Harkins of Providence, KY; her son Bro. Patrick(Sherri) Yates of Nebo, KY; a sister Teresa(Paul) Parker of Marion, KY; 3 brothers Jerrold(Nancy) Daugherty of Earlington, KY; Mike Daugherty of Nebo, KY and Bro. Tondra(Debby) Daugherty of Madisonville, KY; 5 grandchildren Riley(Haley) Harkins, Nathan Harkins, Jared(Dana) Yates, Cassidy(Garrett) Rice and Matthew Yates; 4 great-grandchildren Lucas, Raelynn, Hayden and Everly and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 13th, 2024 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Patrick Yates, Bro. Nick Duvall and Bro. Tondra Daugherty will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Manitou, KY. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Wednesday and from 10am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jared Yates, Matthew Yates, Riley Harkins, Nathan Harkins, Garrett Rice, Roy Lee Simmons and Dylan Daugherty.  Online condolences can be made at www.townsendfuneralhomeinc.com
