Bro. Richard Leibenguth 89, of Poole, KY went to see Jesus on Saturday October 28, 2017. He was born in Caseyville, KY on May 23, 1928, to Nellie Grace Oglesby Leibenguth and Edward J. Leibenguth, he was one of ten children, he was a twin to Ruth Bosecker. He had four brothers and five sisters. He grew up working on the family farm located at the junction of the Tradewater and Ohio rivers. Later he and his brothers owned and ran a fish market in Caseyville on the Ohio River. He was a retired General Baptist Minister, but most of all was child of the King. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 38 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, Company A 143rd Tank Battalion 3rd Armor Division from 1950-56. He was a member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church in Poole, KY, Masonic Lodge #604 in Poole, KY, he was a big UK fan and he loved to hunt, fish and gardening. Most of all he loved worshipping and telling others about his savior. He was preceded in death by his wife Nina Mae Leibenguth. Survived by one daughter Margaret Snyder of Poole, KY; three grandchildren Megan Butkovich (Anthony), Josh (Tara) and Jordan (Ashley) Snyder; two great grandchildren Ella and Isabelle; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Dean Esarey will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8 on Tuesday and from 8am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Masonic service will be held Tuesday at 6pm.
