Calvin Coolidge Mooney 88, of Dixon, KY died on Sunday May 5, 2013 at the Western KY Veterans Center in Hanson, KY. He retired from the City of Dixon, where he worked in the Water Dept. He had also worked for Whirlpool and Swift Packing Co. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of Christ in Union Co.. He was a US Navy veteran, having served during WWII. He was the son of the late Claude L. Mooney and Edith Duncan Mooney. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Amy Jill Smith in 1980 and a brother Claude Junior Mooney. Survivors include his wife of 66 years Jewell Mooney of Dixon, KY; 2 daughters Rita Stone of Nebo, KY and Linda Smith of Olathe, KS.; 2 sons Curtis Mooney of Houston, TX and Jimmy Mooney of Dixon, KY; 6 grand Teresa Mathis, Nebo, KY Mark Smith of Overland Park, KS; Sarah Curry of Madisonville, KY; Daniel Mooney of Glasgow, KY; Andrea Lewis of Little Elm, TX; Jason Mooney of Tyler, TX; 2 stepgrand Preston Hunt of Dixon, KY and Susan Hunt of Dixon, KY; 8 Greatgrand. Funeral services will be held at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at 11AM. Ronny Stubblefield and Billy Neal Parrish will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home and from 8am until service time on Wednesday. Military Rites will be performed graveside by the Hopkins Co. Honor Guard.
