Darris Jean Eblen, 89, of Robards, KY passed away on May 3^rd, 2023 at the Henderson Nursing & Rehab in Henderson, KY. She was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Gibbs Diecasting after 30 years of service. She loved gardening, softball, playing Rook and Bingo and especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Thurby. She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Edward Eblen, 2 sons David and Kenny Eblen and 1 sister Sue Carroll Cooper. Survivors include her daughter Karen Eblen of Robards, KY; 4 sons Raymond(Betty) Eblen of Henderson, KY; Dennis(Mary) Eblen of Akron, OH; William(April) Eblen of Dixon, KY and Ricky(Tammy) Eblen of Henderson, KY; 7 sisters Nellie Duncan of Henderson, KY; Virginia Ann Gibson of Princeton, IN; Corinne Johnson of Henderson, KY; Mary Ina Jenkins of Robards, KY; Sharon Cates of Onton, KY; Judy Cates of Sebree, KY and Pam Lawless of Hebbardsville, KY; 5 brothers Tom “Buddy” Thurby of Dixon, KY; Henry Thurby of Aurora, KY; Woodrow Thurby of St. Louis, MO; Gary Thurby of Henderson, KY and Charles “Bud” Thurby of Sebree, KY; 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Corinne Eblen of St. Louis, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday May 8^th, 2023 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Dan Book will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, KY.
