Delores Ranes Johnson 85, of Slaughters, KY passed away at her home on Tuesday June 1, 2021. She was born on Friday June 14, 1935 to the late Walter Marvin and Lora Lee Ranes at her home in Slaughters, KY. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Slaughters, KY. She loved to garden and cook for her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was married to Omer Franklin Johnson on June 7, 1952 in Onton, KY. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters Roberta Ranes Winstead and Betty Ranes Knight and a brother Dorris Ranes. Survivors include her husband of 68 years Franklin Johnson of Slaughters, KY; 1 daughter Kathy Woods(Terry) of Slaughters, KY; 2 sons Frankie Johnson(Leica) and Keith Johnson(Nita) both of Slaughters, KY; 1 brother Shirley Ranes of Sebree, KY; 7 grandchildren Karie Brown(Tim) of Calhoun, KY, Kristen Davis(Clay) of Evansville, IN, Aaron Johnson(Katie) of Simpsonville, KY, Katie Tate(Jeremy) of Slaughters, KY, Klay Woods(Magen) of Princeton, KY. Reese Johnson(Christine) of Manitou, KY and Emily Johnson(Chatman) of Madisonville, KY; 10 great grandchildren Kenley, Sawyer, Kyla and Walker Davis; Katelyn and Ben Brown; Loralei Ranes and Ruthie Tate; Lyla and Brooks Johnson; several nieces and nephews and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Aaron Johnson, Klay Woods, Reese Johnson, Tim Brown, Clay Davis, Jeremy Tate, Chatman Ellis and Danny Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rob Rodgers, Larry Townsend, Keith Scott and Johnny Nance. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 11am at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Mark Hobgood will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Slaughters, KY. Visitation will be on Friday June 4, 2021 from 5pm-8pm and from 8am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice 2410 S.
