Dencial Ray James 64, of Grand Rivers, KY, formerly of Sturgis passed away at his home on Sunday May 3, 2015. He was a retired coalminer, having worked for Brushy Creek Mines for over 30 years. He was a UMWA member and also a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Sturgis, KY. Survivors include his wife of 25 years Glenda James of Grand Rivers, KY; 4 daughters Kathy Brewer and Sonja Lawson both of Grand Rivers, KY; Rhonda James of Sturgis, KY and Jeana Townsend of Dixon, KY; 2 sons Richie Watkins of Grand Rivers, KY and Danny James of Manitou, KY; 2 sisters Birdie Pierson of Sturgis, KY and Ruby Jennings of Nancy, KY; 2 brothers Junior Cecil James and Richard James both of Beulah, KY; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday May 7, 2015 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Fredonia, KY.
