Dorothy Brown Farmer

Dorothy Brown Farmer 87, of Dixon, KY passed away on Sunday November 26^th, 2023 at her home. Dorothy was a member of the Dixon General Baptist Church in Dixon, KY, as a child she attended Harmony Baptist Church with her grandfather. She was a KY Colonel, and a retired School Teacher, she taught Typing and Business for over 37 years, she started out her career at Sebree High School, then Equality High School, Clay High School and then finished her teaching career at Webster County High School, she continued to substitute teach for many years, she graduated from Western Kentucky University and Murray State University with a Master’s Degree in Business Education. While at WCHS, she was the FBLA sponsor for many years and after retirement she served as secretary and treasurer for the WCRTA for 25 years, she also was a member and served as secretary of the WC Democratic Club. Dorothy enjoyed spending time outside planting flowers and sitting on her front porch and loved riding around to enjoy her Arby’s and Ice Cream. She was the daughter of the late Billie and Georgia Brown. She was preceded in death by her son William Ray “Buddy” Farmer. Survivors include her Daughter in Law/Caregiver Jennifer Davis Farmer of Madisonville, KY; 4 grandchildren Katrina Farmer(Donald) Stafford, Justin(Kristina) Farmer, Johanna Parker and Kodie Littlepage; 4 great grandchildren Collin, Connor and Carlee Stafford and Abby Farmer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 2^nd, 2023 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. John Brumfiel and Pastor Tami Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery in Webster County, KY. Visitation will be from 10am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
