Gene Morrow

Gene Carroll “Nebo” Morrow 79, of Providence, KY passed away at the Continuous Care Unit at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY on Wednesday July 6, 2016. He was a retired Coal Miner from the Island Creek Mines and had also worked for Goldenrod, he was a member of the Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou, KY. He was a US Army Veteran and was stationed in Germany. He was a KY Colonel, he loved golfing, having made a hole in one twice. He also loved fishing and gardening. He was the son of the late John Floyd and Mary Lou Morrow. Survivors include his wife of 52 years Barbara Ann Holmes Morrow of Providence, KY; 1 daughter Mary Ann Holloman and husband Charlie of Providence, KY; 1 son Jimmy Morrow and wife Tammie of Sherman, TX; 1 sister Joyce Osborn of Manitou, KY; 1 brother Robert Floyd Morrow of Earlington, KY; 4 grandchildren Tyler White, Tanner White, Ashley Dressel and Mason Holloman; 4 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Eddie Fleming and Bro. Barry Cullen will officiate. Burial will be in Oakley Home Cemetery in Manitou, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Sunday and until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Military Rites will be performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard at the gravesite.
