Herman "Shorty" Davis Stone

Herman Davis “Shorty” Stone 87, of Dixon, KY passed away on May 15^th, 2023 at Deaconess Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. Herman was a deacon and member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Providence, KY. He was a US Army Veteran. Herman was a retired coal miner, having worked for Pyro Mines. He loved fishing deer hunting, white water rafting and anything to do with the outdoors. He owned and operated Stones Body Shop in Dixon for several years. He was the son of the late Chester Davis and Minnie Gibson Stone. He was preceded in death by a sister Wilma Carolyn Martin and a brother Jerry Clinton Stone. Survivors include his wife of 35 years Geraldine Stone of Dixon, KY; 1 daughter Sandra Kay(Fred) Burns of Mt Vernon, IN; 1 son Rick(Ella Marie) Stone of Clay, KY; 4 grandchildren Sandra Michelle Baker, Kimberly Sue King, Chirsty Kay Bowers and Matthew Davis Stone; 4 great grandchildren Brittney Dodson, Kyle Baker, Mia Baker and Josiah Stone and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 18^th, 2023 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Elders James Downey and Jeff Winfrey will officiate. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8pm and from 9am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
