Homer Brown Jr. 88, of Lisman, KY died on March 6, 2014 at Cypress Grove in Newburgh, IN. He had worked as an Electrician and had worked at the Earl C. Clement Job Corp. in Morganfield, KY and was of the Christian faith. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the South Pacific, Phillipines and Japan. He was a member of the Dixon Masonic Lodge#911, where he had served as past Master. He was also a past member of the Scottish Rite in Madisonville, KY. He was a member of the VFW Post #5484 in Providence, KY, and had served as past Commander, also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ermine Ford #9 in Poole, KY. He loved gardening and selling his vegetables from his garden. He was preceded in death by his father Homer Brown Sr. and his mother Oma Leah Winters, a sister Barbara Schoenheit. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Emma Hill Brown of Lisman, KY; his stepmother June Brown of Providence, KY; 1 daughter Rita Childers and her husband Duane of Lisman, KY; 2 sons Jim Brown and his wife Kim of Henderson, KY and Thomas Davenport and his wife Sherry of Kuttawa, KY; 3 sisters Nancy Brown of Henderson, KY; Jennifer Main of Louisville, KY and Ruthie Winebarger of Providence, KY; 6 brothers Gary Don Brown of Louisville, KY; Ricky Main of Dixon, KY; Homer Main of Clay, KY; Chris Brown of Dixon, KY; Robert Brown of Dixon, KY and Joe Brown of Dixon, KY; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grand children; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11am on Monday March 10, 2014 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. David Parker will officiate. Burial will be in Slover Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Sunday and from 8am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 6pm on Sunday night at the funeral home and Military services will be conducted graveside by the VFW Post #5484 of Providence, KY.  Online condolences can be made at www.townsendfuneralhomeinc.com
