James E. Watson

James E. Watson 78, of Dixon, KY passed away at his home on Saturday May 6^th, 2023. He was a faithful member of the Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Dixon, KY. James had worked for CSX Railroad for 27 years, retiring in 1995. He was a carpenter, electrician, mechanic and a farmer. James built his own home in 1976 along with help from his family, neighbors and especially the Liggett family and he still lived in that home until his passing. He also worked for the Townsend Family at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY since 1995. He was the son of the late Claude Everett Watson and Juanita Crowley Watson. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Ernest Watson. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Janet Watson of Dixon, KY; 3 sons Derrick(Amy) Watson of Hopkinsville, KY; Brad(Kristi) Watson of Huntsville, AL and Scott(Jamie) Watson of Dixon, KY;  his Uncle Glenn Crowley of Dixon, KY; 7 grandchildren Aaron James(Andrea) Watson, Sarah Katherine(John Morgan) Francis, Anna Nicole, Kai Everett, Keaton O’Neal, Hunter Gavin, and Harper Grace; 3 great grandchildren Graham James, Gatlin Clay and Grady Wayne and a niece. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday May 10^th, 2023 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Jody Hughes will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixon, KY. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday and from 8am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice 2410 S.
