Janice Powell

Janice K. Blackburn Powell 76, of Corydon, KY passed away at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, IN on Thursday November 10th, 2022. She was a lifelong Educator, she had worked at several different schools in her career, including the Evansville Christian School, where she also served as Principal, The Hockaday School, USI and the Henderson County School System. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson, KY, where she taught Sunday school. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Dora Mae Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her late husband Don Blackburn. Survivors include her husband of 23 years Steven W. Powell of Corydon, KY; 2 stepdaughters Jennifer Powell Thomas and her husband Brandon of Mt. Vernon, IN and Stephanie Powell of Henderson, KY; 1 granddaughter Arabella Thomas. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church 307 Center Street Henderson, KY at 11am on Friday November 18th, 2022. Rev. Sam Hinkson will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Thursday and from 9am until service time on Friday at the church.
