Jewell Mooney 86, of Dixon, KY died on Wednesday February 25, 2015 at Shemwell Nursing Home in Providence, KY. She was a Teacher’s Aide for many years with the Webster Co. School System. She was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ in Dixon, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Mooney, 2 sisters Ernestine Mooney and Marjorie Price; and a grandaughter Amy Jill Smith. Survivors include 2 daughters Linda Smith and her husband Wayne of Olathe Kansas; Rita Stone and her husband Larry of Nebo, KY; 2 sons Curtis Mooney and his wife SuEllen of Houston, TX and Jimmy Mooney and his wife Sandy of Dixon, KY; 1 sister Jo Ann Hobgood of Robards, KY; 2 brothers Frank “Maurice” Parrish of Mt. Vernon, IN and Billy Wayne Parrish of Robards, KY; 6 grandchildren Teresa Mathis, Mark Smith, Sarah Curry, Daniel Mooney, Andrea Lewis and Jason Mooney; 2 step Grandchildren Preston Hunt and Susie Hunt; 9 great grand; Hunter and Parker Mathis, Samantha and Cadence Curry, Emma and Ryder Smith, Blake and John Lewis and Joshua Stone. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday February 28 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Ministers Ronny Stubblefield and Gary Puryear will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be from 4:30pm until 8pm on Friday and from 8am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
