Jimmy Mooney

Jimmy R. Mooney 71, of Dixon, KY passed away at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN on Wednesday September 29, 2021. He was a Coal Miner for several years and owned several car washes throughout Western Kentucky. He served 1 term as District 1 magistrate in Webster Co. He also owned several different properties throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ in Union County. He was the son of the late Calvin and Jewell Mooney. Survivors include his wife of 27 years Sandy Cartwright Mooney of Dixon, KY; 1 son Daniel Mooney(Amelia) of Glasgow, KY; 1 stepson Preston Hunt of Dixon, KY; 1 stepdaughter Susie Hunt of Clay, KY; 2 sisters Linda Smith of Olathe, KS and Rita Stone of Nebo, KY; 1 brother Curtis Mooney of Frisco, TX; 3 grandchildren Joshua Stone, Quinn Mooney and Heath Mooney and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday October 3, 2021 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Minister Bill Williams will officiate. Burial will be in David Rest Cemetery in Boxville, KY.
