Jo Ann Mizell 77, of Providence, KY passed away on Wednesday March 19, 2014 in the home of her family with them at her side. She was a member of Waggoner General Baptist Church in Webster Co. She enjoyed bowling and became an instructor/coach of the junior league. She enjoyed writing and wrote articles for the newspaper, sometimes poetry, just because. She also enjoyed playing pinochle with her family. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and beautiful spirit. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing in church. She unconditionally loved her children and her family. She greatly missed her husband, most of all she loved and was eternally devoted to the good Lord above. She will be missed. She leaves behind a daughter who will forever keep her in her heart. She was the wife of the late Carroll W. Mizell, also preceded by a daughter Cheryl May, a son Kyle Mizell, a sister Margie Williams, and a brother C.W. Pharris. Survivors include her daughter Shel Davidson and her husband Jim of Boca Raton, FL, one stepson Karl Skeens and his wife Susan of Gresham, Oregon; 3 sisters Mildred McClain and Thelma Nichols both from Dixon, KY and Mary Lou Davis of Evansville, IN; 1 brother Homer “Junior” Pharris of Crofton, KY granddaughters Rachel Hogan of Georgia and Paige Lucas of Virginia; a grandson Stephen May and wife Amanda of Alabama; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY on Monday March 24, 2014. Bro. Darrell Dukes and Bro. Carl Hoover will officiate. Burial will be in King Cemetery in Liberty. Visitation will be from 10am until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Cole, Jeff Williams, Eric Pharris, Mark McClain, Aron McClain and Denzil Davis and Honorary Pallbearer Wayne Jones.
