Johnny Whitfield Sr.

Johnny M. Whitfield 75, of Providence, KY passed away at his home on Monday May 6, 2019. He was a retired coal miner having worked for several coal mines in his 48 year career. He was a Christian and loved to play golf. He was a US Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Mae Whitfield in 2018. He is survived by his 2 sons Johnny “Chip” Whitfield Jr of Paducah, KY and William Michael Whitfield of Providence, KY; a favorite cousin Mae Mae Cobb of Morton’s Gap, KY; 7 grandchildren Meagan, Katie, Jordan, Rachael, Kailey, Dakota and Dylan; 8 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 18, 2019 at 11am at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Morton’s Gap, KY. Rev. Nathan Bone will officiate.
