Marguerite Mooney Tapp 103, of Madisonville, KY formerly of Dixon died at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY on Monday December 26, 2011. She was a licensed Funeral Director and past owner of Tapp Funeral Homes in Henderson, Dixon and Providence, she also was a licensed beautician. She had also worked at the Dixon Post office as a clerk and Camp Breckenridge Post Office during WWII. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, past member of the Dixon Womens Club, and the Presbyterian Womens Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband Kestner Tapp, two sisters Morea Tapp and Crystal Fancher. She is survived by her caregivers Janet Pewitt and Darlene Cotton. One Niece Margaret Cook Porter and One nephew Robert D. Tapp both of Madisonville, KY; six great nieces and nephews; nine great great nieces and nephews and one great great great niece, whom she loved all of them as her own children. Marguerite appreciated all the kindness showed to her by Norris and Carolyn Townsend and Jeff and Nancy McBride. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 29, 2011 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Lon Lorton and Rev. Wayne Nichols will officiate. Entombment will be in the Fairmont Mausoleum in Henderson, KY. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home and from 8am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church 260 W. McLaughlin Ave. Madisonville, KY or the Dixon United Methodist Church 203 St. Rt. 132 West Dixon, KY 42409.
