Mildred Jane Owens

Mildred J. Owens, 88, of Dixon, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 5th, 2025 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY. She was a member of the Little Zion General Baptist Church in Dixon, KY. Mildred provided childcare for 25 years for over 150 children in the Dixon and surrounding communities. She also had worked at Pioneer Plastics for 20 years. Mildred loved quilting, canning and cooking. She was the daughter of the late Ward and Inez Hurley Taylor. She was preceded in death by a sister Wilmore Ann Taylor and brothers J.D. Taylor and Ward “Buddy” Taylor Jr. Survivors include her sons Ronnie Owens of Dixon, KY and Jody Owens(Philip Gillette) of Savannah, GA; a sister Katherine Dennis of Salem, KY and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 8th, 2025 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Bro. Justin Cardwell will officiate. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay, KY.
