Mildred W. Watson 88, of Poole, KY died on Sunday April 15, 2012 at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, KY. She was a Homemaker and a lifelong member of the Poole Church of Christ in Poole, KY; she was also a member of the Poole Homemakers Club, and state officer for the Ky Homemakers Club. She was a founding member of the Breckinridge Land Committee and founding member of the Poole Harvest Daze, and also co-authored the Poole Harvest Daze Book; she was very active with 4-H, PTA and Band Boosters, she catered several weddings and special events in her lifetime. During WWII she helped build P-47 Fighters and B-52 Bombers. She was preceded in death by a grandson Andrew Watson. Survivors include her husband of 69 years W.T. Watson of Poole, KY; one daughter Nancy McKnight of Nortonville, KY; two sons Jack Watson (Carole) of Alamosa CO. and Bob Watson (Angie) of Poole, KY; one brother Russell Wood of Evansville, IN; two sisters Dorothy King of Evansville, IN and Camille Simpson of Auburn, IN; 7 grandsons and one granddaughter; several great grand children and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 19, 2012 at 1pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. Bro. Bill Doyle and Bro. Gary Puryear will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Wednesday and after 8am on Thursday at the funeral home.
