Phillip R. “Phil” Posey Sr. 59, of White Plains, KY formerly of Providence, KY died at his home on Sunday May 24, 2015. He was a surface coal miner for over 35 years. He was a Handyman, and loved working with wood. He loved his family, loved the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, he also loved watching TV. He was a member of Star Hope General Baptist Church in Liberty, KY. He was the son of the late Robert Lewis Posey and Betty Posey Fleming. He was preceded in death by a sister Connie Durrance and a brother Gregory Lewis Posey. Survivors include his wife of 38 years Debbie Devine Posey of White Plains, KY; 2 sons Phillip Posey Jr.of Madisonville, KY and Chris Posey of Nortonville, KY; 1 sister Kyla Fleming Dunn of Vestavia, AL; 4 brothers Ralph Posey of Odenville AL; Robert Allen Posey of Chambersburg, PA; Mike Posey of Gulf Shores, AL and Tom Fleming of Henderson, KY. 6 grandchildren; Skylar, Dakotah, Darren, Landon, Zane and Emily; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at 2pm at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev Danny Nelson will officiate.Burial will be in Johnson Island Cemetery in Hopkins County. Visitation will be from 3-8pm on Tuesday and from 8am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
