Robert "Bob" Johnson

Robert “Bob” Johnson 74, of Highlands Ranch, CO., passed away on Wednesday July 31st, 2024 at Morningstar Senior Living at Ridgegate in Lone Tree, CO. Bob attended Cherry Hill’s Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. Bob retired from P & M Mining Co. in 2008 after 37 years as the Safety Director. He had worked in the Madisonville and Sebree area before moving to Colorado with the company. Bob was a graduate from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He loved spending time with his family, painting and artwork. Bob also had a passion for working with Apple trees and grafting different species. He was the son of the late Ernest and Pearl Hamil Johnson. He was preceded in death by a sister Jo Kirkwood. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Cathy Johnson of Highlands Ranch, CO; 1 daughter Heather Whitfield of Madisonville, KY; 3 sons Patrick(Erin) Johnson of Evansville, IN; Matt(Simone) Johnson of Parker, CO and Chad Johnson of Highlands Ranch, CO; 1 sister Faye Faulk of Morton’s Gap, KY; 2 brothers Terry Johnson of Elizabethtown, KY and Steve Johnson of Crofton, KY; his Father in law and Mother in law Rev. Harry and Mary Anna Baldwin of Slaughters, KY; 5 grandchildren Caleb, Zachary, Henry, Ellie and Penny and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 9th, 2024 at 11AM at Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church 2777 Old Dixon-Slaughters Road Slaughters, KY 42456. Rev. Josh Bumpus and Rev. Jacob Bumpus will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Thursday at the church and from 9am until service time on Friday at the church.
