Shirley Burin Tomlingson 86, of Henderson, KY died on Thursday January 26, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was a retired Bricklayer having worked for Glover Construction and Industrial Contractors, he was a member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union Local #4 Indiana-Kentucky. He was of the Baptist Faith, and was a WWII Army Veteran. He is the son of the late Daniel Cleveland Tomlingson and Flossie Walker Tomlingson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Jeannell Jackson Tomlingson, 2 sisters Helen Dossett and Alleen Overby; 3 brothers Samuel David, Daniel “Buck”, and Clifton Tomlingson. Survivors include 2 daughters Vyrdena T. Edwards of Henderson, KY; Pamela Phillips of Niagara, KY; 3 sons Troy Tomlingson of Robards, KY; Ronald Tomlingson and Michael Tomlingson both of Henderson, KY; 2 sisters Betty B. Brown of Henderson, KY and Barbara Schierenbeck of Florence, KY; 1 brother James Lee “Heavy” Tomlingson of Poole, KY; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grand; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 28, 2012 at 10am at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Rev. Rick Oakley will officiate Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Friday at the funeral home and from 8am until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
